Gastein

This ski resort area is located in the Gastein Valley and it is part of Austria’s largest ski district – Ski Amadé. It is located just 100 km south of Salzburg. The Gastein Valley is made up of a total of 4 ski resorts that are interconnected via a bus system – Dorfgastein, Bad Hofgastein / Bad Gastein, Graukogel and Sport Gastein.
The area offers excellent ski conditions on more than 200 km of ski runs at an elevation of from 843 – 2,650 m.
The area has excellent snow conditions from early November through late spring.
Many of the areas ski lifts are covered gondolas or modern chairlifts offering a high level of comfort. The area also offers excellent snowboarding conditions in its three snowparks. Besides skiing, Gastein is also known as a popular spa destination. The valley has many thermal springs, which have been used for therapeutic purposes since the times of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
